why can't I close my finder folder and everything of of my device has changed and when I on it the big power led signals in front of the Mac don't light on the small light up

The current view is your desktop and does not close, typically on the right you will have your drive Icons which you can double click to open these ‘Windows’ and these windows do close! You can also open folders within the given drive as well and they react the same. If you don’t see your drive go to the menu bar and select Go then select the folder from here. You can also alter what you want on your desktop by dragging it to it or altering things from within the menu bar Finder then Preferences clicking what you want visible.
