Pixel 3 Dropped, no longer holds charge.

I dropped my Pixel 3. No screen damage nor back glass damage however when it came to charging it. It wouldn't hold a charge, after a while it hit 0%. Whenever I plug it in it shows that it's charging however as soon as I unplug it, it shuts down immediately.

It heats up whenever I turn it on while it "charges", around the area behind the camera and fingerprint sensor.

The battery was fine beforehand.

What could be the possible issue(s)?

Are there any tests I can do?

From what you're describing it sounds like the cable to the battery became unseated from the Motherboard. If your comptrable with your repair abilitys, you could open the device up and make sure that the battery cable is plugged in.
