Went through charging discharge process now overheating fan constantly

Macbook air 13 early 2020 A2179 battery fully charged after replacing plus 2hrs then ran it down to fully discharged until unit shut off then fully charged to 100% again now after using the computer the fan constantly runs charging percentage rapidly drops and unit is getting hot? not charging after replacement

Can you install CoconutBattery so we can see what’s happening with both the battery and the charging of it. Post a snapshot of the Apps main window here so we too can see.

Try reseating the battery connection to the main logic board (make sure the end of the battery connector is flush with the end of the connector on the logic board). Then reset the SMC and PRAM and reboot the system. If the issues still persist, there may be a larger problem with your device or a problem with the battery you installed. Good luck!
