Released on July 28th, 2017, the New Nintendo 2DS XL is a handheld gaming console succeeding the Nintendo 2DS.

Modded 2ds xl not connecting to wifi

My modded 2ds xl will show the internet at full bars which won’t actually work, then it will go off and grey where it just says enabled. After that it will show the street pass icon.

I have tried deleting the WiFi and reconnecting which didn’t work and my WiFi is set to 2.4ghz.

can anyone point me in the right direction for a solution?

Thanks

What method did you use to hack it, and what were you doing before this started?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@darthmango i used this website and followed its guide https://3ds.hacks.guide

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I was also using a forwarder to add games to my home screen before i noticed it happening

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@george25826 i mean, what method as in which exploit? I'm guessing super-skaterhax? The forwarder probably wouldn't be a factor, but we can come back to that if need be

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@darthmango yeah where it said boot9strap it had (super-skaterhax) next to it

Hi!

Is your 2DS XL up to date?

When you are trying to connect to it again, does it work?

I would try a factory reset and go all over again. This most of the time will solve the issue.

Replacing the WiFi chip it self is an option, but only if the above didn't solved it.

Please let us know how it goes!

An immediate factory reset seems a bit overkill IMO. Probably best to try some simpler troubleshooting first

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@darthmango yeah, your right! Probably for the best to see if it can be fixed before proceeding to the big step. Sorry!

Thanks,

I wouldn't mind giving this a go, as the whole modding process is quite simple, but I would like to be 100% sure this works first.

@george25826 A factory reset doesn't remove CFW from your console. If you decide to do one, don't try to reinstall it from scratch. At most, you'll only need to do the restoring-updating & finalizing pages

You said you were using a forwarder, were you trying to connect to wifi in 3DS mode or DS mode? DS mode wifi slots are separate from 3ds slots, and have to be set up under Internet Settings -> Nintendo DS Connections.

If that's not it, the problem's probably with the network itself. To check, we'll need another access point to connect to. If you have an android phone, you can host a hotspot over mobile data and connect to that. Windows also supports hosting access points, though you'll need ethernet for that to be helpful

If things work normally using your hosted AP, there's some sort of problem with your regular wifi network.
