Hi. Have installed replacement HDD into a PS4 mk1 but am now stuck in a Safe Mode loop of trying to install the latest update .pup file from USB. All other Safe Mode options are locked out. Any ideas..?

Hi!

Are you sure that you have the complete reinstall file? If you only have the "UPDATE" file on your USB, it just won't work.

Here you can find the PS4 software: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/suppor...

Do NOT use the "PS4 Console Update File".

You DO need to use the "PS4 Console Reinstallation File".

Make sure that your new HDD is formatted in NTFS. The USB where the reinstallation file is on, need to be formatted in FAT32.

And you do need the following folder structure:

PS4 > UPDATE > Place the reinstallation.PUP file in here

Please let us know how it goes! Good luck!!
