MP Pro Still say Battery Service Recommended after IFIXIT Replacement
A few weeks ago, my battery essentially stopped working. Battery stopped charging, and I could no longer run my my MacBook Pro 14" (M1) on battery power. I was getting the 'Service Recommended' message. I ordered and installed a replacement battery from IFIXIT.
MB Pro still won't run on battery power or charge, and I still have the 'Service Recommended' message. I used the coconutBattery tool, and it appears as though there's no data getting to the logic board from the battery ("design capacity listed a '0', and status listed as 'check battery').
UPDATE: After charging the battery overnight, the machine WILL now run on battery power, but I'm still getting no battery information to the system (still says 'Service Recommended' and won't show battery percentage).
UPDATE #2: I took my machine to the Apple “Genius bar” today. After telling them that I had replaced the battery myself, they quickly concluded that it was a bad battery, or that I installed it wrong. I asked them to run a diagnostics test anyway, after which they acknowledged that it was most likely a bad Logic board (not the battery) causing the issue.
Should I try a replacement cable? Or does this seem like a logic board issue?
