Control panel keeps flashing

Control panel keeps flashing on the washing/drying/clean(all in green) sanitized (in red) along with the delay start that keeps going from 2 to 4 to 6 then back to 2 again (green). Serial # TH52769688 / Model #LFBD2409LF3C. Thanks for any help you can offer. Tried unplugging and plugging back in did not help.

I have a Maytag dishwasher (appears to be made by Whirlpool) that's been doing something similar. I found a service sheet under the kick panel that described how to put the dishwasher in test mode, and the results from that said the problem was in the control panel (touch panel).

I unplugged the panel and sprayed both sides of the connector with electronics cleaner and brushed it down thoroughly as best I could with a stiff bristle brush. Once I plugged it back in it seemed to be working fine for about three weeks until it started doing that again. My first cleaning didn't help, but doing it once more got it going again.

I'm not sure what my next steps are, as this is an older model dishwasher and I can't find anywhere online selling the control panel for less than about $175, far more than the dishwasher is worth. So it'll probably get scrapped if it gets to the point where cleaning doesn't help any longer.

Hi @pattig68389

Try performing the Water/Service test (WST) as described in the service data sheet and check if this resets the dishwasher.

If still no good, then if checking the control panel keys or cleaning the control board cable connections as suggested above doesn't work also visually inspect the control board for any obvious signs of component damage i.e. burnt out or heat stressed components on the board.

If there is evidence of component damage on the control board and you're not sure (or even if there isn't) post a few close up images of the board in your question on ifixit to get more help. Here's how to do this on ifixit Adding images to an existing question

If you want to try replacing the control board to see if that resolves the problem search online for either 5304502611¹ or 5304512731¹ to find suppliers that suit you best.

¹ Supplier examples only to show possible cost of board. The first number linked is the Frigidaire part number for the original board used in the dishwasher (it should be printed on the board somewhere if you wish to confirm). The 2nd number is the part number for the board that has superseded the original board as it is not made anymore by the manufacturer. This doesn't mean however the the original is no longer available, maybe just that it is harder to find that's all.

The WST did not work, I tried both. So now onto the control board!

Thanks for your reply!

Try exercising the buttons to see if any are stuck. Make sure they all feel like the "snap" when pushed.

Other than that, there is no info on the flashing.
