Trying to use terminal to disable auto boot

Are you following the steps in this guide? Note also that when the command executes successfully it doesn't really give you any feedback, it'll just go to the next terminal prompt. You can check to see if the command was successful by shutting down the device and closing the lid. Then open the lid and see if it auto boots. If it doesn't, then you're good to go! Good luck!
