New Screen - Touchscreen works but Black Screen
Hey all,
I just replaced my S20+ 5G with a 3rd party screen + chassis and ran into an issue. Everything installed perfectly and powers on as expected, but the screen never turns on - I can even feel the vibrations from inputting my lock screen code, but I can't see a thing.
I was comparing my two displays and I noticed that the resistors(?) by the display cable on the bottom of the phone were different. The broken but functioning one has a 4x5 grid, whereas the new one has less resistors and are in a different pattern. I currently have everything reinstalled in the old case and am waiting for a new replacement to come in.
I was wondering if anyone knows if this change in resistors could cause the LCD to not turn on? Or since I am getting tactile feedback, it might just be the display flex cable that's messed up? Not trying to spend too much on the phone, so looking for advice before spending the extra $100 for a genuine Samsung screen. TIA!

Hi, the screen is obviously different. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t work with a different layout. Try the old screen if possible just to test nothing bad has happened.
Also read the small print of the replacement screen and any comments left by previous buyers if available for more clues.
