I have a single black line on my TV screen. It literally just popped up today while I was watching YouTube. Thought it was my PC at first (I use the TV for my PC). But turns out it's the screen.

Tried the basics. Turn on/off, change display settings, factory reset. The works. Lots of online troubleshooting suggests it could be something to do with the ribbons or the t-con.

I did as some suggested and completely unclipped all the ribbons from the t-con and main board and then put them firmly back in. Line persist.

Someone please help if you can. I just bought this after my last TV died. And while I can live with the line till I get a new TV, I REALLY don't wanna buy a new TV right now.

Hi @markcanham

If you purchased it in July 2024, contact the manufacturer's customer service section in your location and get it replaced under warranty. There's a 12 month manufacturer's warranty on the TV so you shouldn't have to fix it yourself at this stage.

@markcanham this is for informational purposes only. As my colleague @jayeff already mentioned, this fault should be covered under warranty.

What you have here is a loose connection on one of the data lines where the LCD driver boards connect to the LCD. Those are attached via a special process and can't be fixed by a DIY.er. The error itself is called a TAB error.

Sometimes you can verify this by applying some pressure on the bottom of where the line ends and see if that changes anything. Apply some pressure on the TAB that corresponds with where the line is on your screen. See if that changes anything. The attached image is just an example of what to look for.

This is just for information. Make use of any warranty claims you can. It's not an easy fix at all.
