My Nilfisk Alto Attix-50 vacuum cleaner keeps pulsing on and off.

My Nilfisk vacuum cleaner keeps pulsing on and off when I switch it on. It pulses every half a second or so. I've checked for blockages and filters are clean. Any ideas of what I can look at? Thanks
