A wireless, more traditional, video game controller produced by Nintendo for the Switch system. Model number: HAC-013.

Pro Controller Left Joystick Input Dropout

My left joystick's input seems to dropout momentarily, especially when I push it in any direction in the top half of the joystick (i.e. directly up, up-left, up-right, etc.). I already tried taking the controller apart and putting cleaning solution in the joystick (i.e. BW-100), but it only solves the problem temporarily. Is there anything else I can do that doesn't involve replacing the joystick?

Hi!

i’m afraid that you do need to replace it… when you test the joystick in the settings menu of the Switch, what are the results? Maybe you can just calibrate it. Is the controller also up to date?

I did recalibrate, but the issue didn't completely go away. When I move the joystick around the upper edge of the left joystick, there's the dropout is less pronounced but still there. Controller is up to date.

EDIT: Slight edit for clarity.

Alright, then I’m afraid that you do need to replace it :(… you do need to solder and have some solder experience. I replaced some of them and the good thing is, is that the solder melt really easily and that replacing it is easier then like the PS4 controller joysticks.
