A few things come to mind here.
If everything is in Chinese then you must not have set the phone up, in this case you would need to factory reset the phone and do the setup from the beginning.
Once you have set the phone up you can try your SIM, if the issue persists then the device may be locked to another service provider or your SIM may need a clean/check for oxidation if it’s an older SIM.
One other option would be to obtain an e-SIM if the device is unlocked.
The other thing is if the phone was a demo phone, it won’t have an IMEI associated with it, so you’ll never get a SIM or e-SIM to work.
This leads us to the option of returning the the device to the seller if they didn’t advise you of the phone being a demo phone that would not function with a SIM.
It would be nice if reset & provider lock is off and you are able to resolve with the reset.
