won’t progress pass the “Leap Frog” screen

I have no clue when this was bought but i do know i haven’t used it in over maybe 9 years. i now have a baby niece who id love to give this to. i plugged the charger in and luckily it turned on. however it doesn’t show me the profile screen or anything past the opening screen where it says “Leap Frog”. i’m in south florida so if anyone knows someone who fixes leappads or knows a way i can do it myself please let me know!

Found this YouTube video on the leap 2 but should apply to your leap 1.

Basically gets you to connect to the leap website to run updates & fix errors on your leap, but you may need to install the leap program on your laptop and then connect your device.

I’m not familiar with LeapPad but I’m sure the app will have instructions and documentation or the site will.
