What do I do?

Phone just went dead. Didn’t drop it, didn’t spell any liquid on it. Plugged into the charger and it’s not turning on. Should I get a new battery to see if that will fix it? What would you do? Thanks

Hi,

First thing I would do is confirm that the lightning cable does have power output.

The next thing I would check is if the charge port is blocked up with lint/dirt or something else in it stopping the charge.

The next is to confirm that the screen isn’t dead (if the phone powered on) by toggling the silent button to see if there’s the vibration working.

The next would be to open the phone up and remove battery plate and disconnect battery then check power output to terminal the battery connects to.

If you end up with power to the terminal for the battery flex and the battery voltage is below 3.8 volts then it’s possible that the battery isn’t capable of accepting charge any longer and needs replacement.

Without a known good battery to use as a substitute you really won’t know if the phone will power on and give you a screen or not.

Hope this helps
