Index left ear piece crackling

As the title says my left ear piece crackles. There isn't any moving white pixels on my index eye pieces at all as some other forums said that. Is it a cable problem or is it just the left ear that needs adjusted. The one big problem is that I TRIED to undo the gasket but one of the t5 screws are stripped and I cannot take it off to try to tighten the left ear piece as I was thinking it could be the possible solution. Its already off warranty though. Should I just buy a new headset at this point, will a new cable fix the crackle or do I try to sell this thing on ebay for like 100 dollars to see if someone will take it off my hands? Lol
