Find repair and additional information for the LG LRMVS3006* refrigerator, a 2020 model with automatic defrost technology and Wi-Fi connectivity capability. This page covers information for model numbers matching the pattern LRMVS3006*.

My LG model LRMVS3006S is not cooling properly

I have the fridge temp set to 33˚F and freezer set to -5˚F. Fridge temp remains at 40˚F. Fridge has been powered on for the last 48 hours at these settings. Was off due to LG tech request to defrost prior to visit.

LG Tech was here to replace parts after I made the same issue known to LG. He replaced the compressor and some other parts that are at the bottom of the fridge. Says the fan is good.

I don't know where to go from here. Other than return it to Costco and get another one or a different model.

Was purchased mid July 2024.

I know that 33˚F is not the proper temp to leave this at, I just set it there to get to the actual temp that I want that would be 37˚F. I do have a question regarding the temperature range. What should be the range of temps if set at 37˚F? Say 37˚F to 40˚F or should it remain stable at 37˚F?

Hi @remltr

Did the LG technician check the sealed system refrigerant high and suction pressures after replacing the compressor?

Have you verified the temps in both compartments using a thermometer or are the temps just what the display is showing?

Try checking for any error codes that may give some idea of what's wrong.

Hi jayeff.

The tech had gauges attached so I assume he checked all the pressures. He spend almost three hours here doing his business.

Yes I do have a thermometer in each portion of the cabinet. Fridge, middle door and freezer. I also have a meater probe which reads internal and as well ambient temp. It matches within one degree of the analog thermometer. One thing that is important that I understand is the operating temperature. Can you please answer my question about the temperature range I should expect with a normally operating fridge set at 37˚F? This way I will know if it is normal or something I need to do something about.

@remltr

The manual doesn't specify (or at least I couldn't find it) but usually refrigerators have upper and lower preset limits around the user set temperature within which they operate, usually about 5°F degrees.

They do try to stay near the set limit however e.g set for 37°F may rise to 40°F before the compressor kicks in to lower it again and goes down to 35°F before it stops.

A lot also depends on the ambient temp and also how often and for how long the doors are opened through normal usage which affects the temps in the compartment. First thing in the morning is probably the best time to check as overnight there is usually less user activity so everything is more stable so to speak.

All you can do is check the thermistors to see if they are having the correct resistance value for whatever the temperature is at the time.
