First boot in safe mode and see if that works!
Booting in safe mode: Power off or unplug it. Plug back in hold the eject and sync buttons while holding them hit the power button. Don't let go of the eject and sync till the second set of beeps.
From there do a factory reset! And see if it works.
If not, or if it is having issues with formatting/installing, then the HDD need to be replaced! Replacing this isn’t difficult, but you do need to know some things before you swap it. If this is the case, it’s recommended to upgrade to a SSD. Way faster, less power consumption and lighter.
