Replaced all, Not working

I have a "new " logic board , video screen and battery. Prior to replacing these the screen was not working. I could access the hard drive from the computer. I pulled the battery connector off the logic board so got a " new " one. So with the new logic board, screen and battery nothing it working. At first the screen would light up then go off. I have rechecked the connections. It will not turn on and i can not access the ipod from the computer ? Any ideas ? I did try the old battery and same results. Possible bad " new " logic board ? I did get it from Ebay. Thanks

Hi,

Unless the cable/Usb port or charge port is faulty and you have 3u tools installed on your computer you can try starting the app then connecting the iPod with the lightning cable.

“When an Apple device is in DFU mode the screen is completely black with no sign of life”.

If you are able to see device detected in DFU mode on 3u tools, you can proceed to flashing the device with the firmware you have or download the one you need through 3u tools firmware options.

If not then follow the procedure for getting the iPod into DFU mode (different to restore) if you see the connect to iTunes logo, you are not in DFU mode.

If you can’t establish communication with 3u tools and the device then there is a fault at either the USB port/Lightning cable/Charge port/Flex cable or Mainboard.

Hope this helps

Thanks. I never heard of the 3u tools. I downloaded it and get nothing out of the Ipod. If I just take the logic board out, connect it to the computer with or without the battery, should i be able to detect it without the hard drive ? I am trying to localize the problem. Once again, thanks for the 3u tool tip. It is nice. Already checked out my old Ipod4

Thanks, yes it’s a really good app, but it takes a bit to get used to how to tweak the settings that work for you.

The other thought I had was to confirm voltage supplies around the board as well as the flex connections for pin damage.

Cheers
