I have a droid Razr with a broken LCD... we found a replacement phone and tried to swap out the lcd from that phone and put it in the broken one... during this time it was impossible to separate the lcd from the front screen and the good lcd cracked as well.. We are looking for a cheap place to repair the phone since all seem so expensive. Any suggestions?

Kathryn Russell, as you already discovered, the LCD, digitizer and the glass are fused. They should be replaced as one unit. The cheapest price for the assembly is around $180. So, it all depends what cheap means to you :-) If you are looking for anyone to repair it for you, you may want to Google it and see if there is anyone close to your geographical location. Take it from me guys I have tried to install just the glass and it is not possible. All the new phones are coming with the new style preassembled LCD and Touch Screen and are not able to be separated. You best bet is to purchase the genuine Droid Razr LCD and Digitizer Assembly at Cellphone Repair Shop.com
The actuall installation is not too dificult but considering the cost of the part I would pay the $25 to have them install it also.

Actually, a blow drier would've helped separate the glass/digitizer from the lcd. All you would have needed to do is get the glass for about $70 and some screen adhesive.

Actually you need to make sure you cracked the LCD or just glass lens. If you cracked the LCD then you need to change the LCD and Digitizer Assembly. The LCD Screen and Touch Screen Laminated by special tech, they could be devided. If you just cracked the Lens then you could purchase the glass lens from the referred website.

The LCD and Touch Screen are fused together on the Droid Razr and are hard to separate. I found this when repairing my screen. I got the full Motorola Droid Razr LCD + Touch Screen Replacement from RepairsUniverse.com.
It came with installation guide and the repair was pretty straight forward.

This repair can be done with the glass only. This is why just the glass is available. It does take an experienced tech to do this though. Patience and finesse are required and a hotplate helps immensely. I say it is possible because I have done this repair in my shop. If the LCD is still in tact you can replace just the glass. It is not much different than the Galaxy S 3 or 4. I do not recommend doing if you are not experienced!!!
