Repair information, service manuals, and troubleshooting help for refrigerators manufactured by LG Electronics.

Freezer cooling but not refrigerator.

The freezer and middle drawer are cooling as expected but fridge is 15 to 20 degrees higher than setting. Ran board test and refrigerator fans work during test on the door ice maker side not the back top fans. Could this be the temperature probe not reading properly, maybe the fans on the back panel or should I be looking at something else?

Hi @williampadron

Not sure if you tried this but check if any error codes are being displayed as seen on p.32 of the service manual

If they are the error code list will show what the problem is.

The manual shows detailed testing procedures shown for each code.

If you find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, here's a link that may help.

Click on the exact model number of your model to go to the parts list. It shows the manufacturer's part number for each part. Search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

I haven’t received any error codes . I tried running the diagnostics from the the app and it says everything is supposedly okay.

@williampadron

Did you try from the refrigerator as shown in the link?

p.39 of the manual shows how to electrically check the refrigerator fan and p.27- p.28 shows the temp sensor test

Sorry, the model I have is the LMXS30796S/00 but it didn’t let me correct it in the title. Does the 30726 manual apply as well?

@williampadron

Not sure, it may but try this one as it is closer in number.

Go to p.32/122

Thanks, I’ll go ahead and verify those points on the manual. By the way, I ran test one on the board and the rear fans do work. The refrigerator hold temperature just above 15 to 20 degrees of the set point. Is it possible to calibrate the unit or would the thermistor be responsible for the incorrect reading?

My refrigerator was doing the same thing. It turned out to be one of the fans on the back panel. That fan sucks all the cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator. I just opened it up and and cleaned it. Good luck!
