Repair, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Steam Deck with LCD display, a handheld gaming console made by Valve, released on February 25, 2022. Identified by model number 1010.

Left bumper replaced but still not fully functional

I just finished replacing my son's left bumper (L1) button because he dropped his Steam Deck, causing it to barely register: had to hard press it on the top, no function from the outside edge. Now that it is replaced, the outside edge still doesn't register but the top is definitely making better contact. Is there something else that I could replace to solve the remaining problem?

Hi,

I had the same issue after a fall and finally found the time to look into it. In my case the switch for the bumper on the left button board was pushed in due to the fall, and I was able to push it back together and restore full functionality. I only needed to remove the trigger to gain enough access.
