24 pin Flex cable compatibility

Hello to you all fellow ifixers. I have this problem: I took my PS3 (fat, 80gb, CECH L01l to a technician and he fixed it, but he also broke the bluray drive flex cable when he reassembled the console. He specifically broke the 24 pin flex ribbon cable that goes from the bluray drive to the motherboard. And now it's getting really complicated to find a replacement. All I can find on AliExpress is a 24pin cable for PS3 Slim, and since I live overseas, buying a cable from eBay will cost me 4x original price due to shipping costs. So, my question is: Is the 24pin cable for PS3 Slim compatible with my fat PS3? They look exactly the same, same number of pins and apparently same dimensions as well.

I hope you can give me a hand as soon as you can. I prefer to wait a month for a cheap AliExpress cable than spending 32 bucks on eBay. Have a great day!

Both of those are for the PS3 Phat. But if the Slim has the exact 24pin one, like yours, then it should work!

Hello and thanks a LOT for taking the time to answer! Yes, the first photo is exactly from the listing I checked on eBay hahaha!! I messaged the seller, he was also very kind and gave me a very similar answer as yours. Physically it looks the same and it has the same number of pins, so yes, it seems it should work fine. But I found a comment on AliExpress saying that the replacement cable is "too thin" and it didn't work for them. I guess I'll have to wait and make my own test. I bought the cable yesterday for a couple bucks.
