Suggestion for upgrading gpu on iMac 21.5inch late 2015

Hi, I'm been thinking to upgrade my iMac.

What should I upgrade in order to game and stream. For example, BG3 needs at a minimum of an AMD GPU 4GB VRAM. On my desktop i am obviously way below that.

Current spec is stated as below:

  • Processor: 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
  • Memory: 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
  • Start up Disk: Macintosh HD
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536MB

iMacs have limited upgrade possibilities!

Sadly, the GPUs is not one of them, as the chip is soldered to the logic board. One can upgrade in some cases the CPU as an example in your case putting in an i7 CPU and in other systems upgrading the RAM, which sadly in this series has soldered RAM so your stuck with 8GB to work with.

You might be able to find another 2015 board with an i7 and 16GB of RAM already installed which would make more sense. Still that doesn’t alter the GPU.
