Physically disconnect the internal keyboard
Hi,
My Macbook Pro 16 2019 internal keyboard started slowly dying a while ago.
My keyboard is 'pressing' random keys even when I'm not typing.
This has gotten so bad that I can't even use the laptop anymore. I can't even log in to my account anymore since as soon as I boot up the pc, the password field gets filled with key presses.
I tried connecting an external keyboard but this does not stop it.
Apple seems to have a Service Program for the exact problem I'm describing, however I contacted them and they don't want to repair my keyboard under this program since the model is not listed.
A repair is quoted at $900. I'm not paying that.
It's still a very good device and it's always been used as a desktop so I don't need the internal keyboard.
Is there away I can physically disconnect the internal one and just use an external keyboard?
I tried disconnecting the cable already but that made the fans go wonky. Maybe I disconnected the wrong one. I can't seem to find a good overview of which cable does what.
Any advice is welcome!
