G4 will not power up

When I press the power button it lights up momentarily and then goes out. Computer does not boot up.

Both fans run, but one is quite noisy.

Red light on mother board comes on.

I have replaced PRAM battery.

Reset the logic board by pressing the small button on the logic board (CUDA Switch) and see if this helps.

Pressing button on logic board did not help.

I did pull the power supply and checked each pin with a voltmeter. All readings were good. What's next? ( I'm afraid to ask )

Thinking it might be a bad logic board.

Thxs

Do you have a compatible video card installed? Older Macs won't boot without one. If that isn't the case, then your CPU or logic board is probably dead.

Computer was fine before. Is it possible to replace the logic board or cpu?

Is it possible to check the cpu?

Thx

The G4 Quicksilver came in 533MHz, 667MHz, 733MHz, 800MHz, 933MHz, And 1.0GHz speeds.

^^ this information is incorrect, the slowest Quicksilver was 733mhz..

the digital audio series:

466,533,667,733

and qs series:

733, 800 (single, dual), 867, 933, 1ghz (Dual)

the DA + Quicksilver models share the most similarities + compatibilities of the powermac g4 series types, ie: bus speed, ram speed, hd speed, power supply, all compatible, motherboard is probably the same size + layout aswell
