G430 Headset volume control repair

Hi!

(I hope this is the right place to ask. If not, please give tips where to ask.)

I have had a Logitech G430 for 5+ years now. Recently I started to have cable contact issues: there is a volume control/mic mute "unit" on the wire and the contact issue is at one of the connections. Probably an easy soldering fix, however, I don't know how to open the little box of the volume control unit.

I have 0 experience: what can hold it together? Glue? Or one of those "click-on" connections (don't know the English term...?) How do I get it open without (too much) damage?

Any help is appreciated.
