Is it feasable to change the powerchip ICS if that is faulty?

three bongs and no screen and flashing light in middle on front. Battery charges but does not hold, ac alone ok. Mac Intermittently came on.

Some months ago, detailled description on your site prompted your experience to suggest powerchip deffect.

Mac Support only say motherboard must be changed.

sounds like the power button is constantly being pressed, triggering a loop or PMU resets, try removing the top case, and check the power button assembly, and the connector, and see if that does the trick.

thanck you.

I tried but to no avail.

I bought a new MacBook Pro 13.3-and put old the hard drive in an ezternal casing. Later this year, i will come back to the PowerBook and see if i can locate the Pmu chip and possiblyreplace it.

thank you again
