It seems that there could be a Windows driver update that can cause this problem.

If you can still access the device manager then remove the video driver shut system down and restart.

If you can’t get access to device manager then reboot into safe mode and remove video driver shut system down and restart.

The laptop will revert to the previous driver and the flickering should be gone.
