The display of my laptop will get fuzzy or even become covered with brightly colored vertical lines when I move it or touch it in certain spots. This typically causes the it to freeze. Sometimes the laptop can be turned on, but the display will remain off. What is going on and how can I fix it?

The symptoms you describe are classic indicators that you have the iBook G3 video chip flaw. Please read another post of mine in the link below for details. Basically, there are some ways that you can temporarily sidestep the issue, however it's almost impossible to fix the problem permanently, and it's not worth a lot of time/effort/money, considering it's a G3.
