Does Swapping screens from another iPad Air 2 Work?

I've swapped a screen from from an Ipad air that wasnt working, but had a good screen into another ipad air that was working, but the screen was smashed.

I've swapped them, but now the working one doesn't turn on, I was just wondering if swapping screens this way works, or if I've damaged something in the process?

While there are two flavors of this iPad, both share the same screen assembly. Swapping out parts to make one working is not an issue, so that’s not the cause of the screen not working.

Thanks for your help Dan.

After looking at the guides, I didn't disconnect the power before unplugging the screen, i assume this has caused an issue?

What damage does this cause and is there anything I can do?

@worsergeor24709 - At this point one needs to dive into the logic board circuitry to diagnose what got damaged.

You'll need the schematics and board view drawings as well as the needed tools to dive into this world are you up to it?

I'm up for it, not sure if I'll be up to it XD but I'm definitely keen to try!

What tools will i need? and I assume the schematics and board view drawings can be found online somewhere?

@worsergeor24709 - You’ll need a good digital multi meter, soldering Iron, solder and flux. A good work surface with good lighting and a good bench magnifier. But besides the schematics and board view drawings you might want to brush up on how microelectronics work.

ok, I have all of them things, i have some magnify glasses I use with a light on top, not sure if they'll be good enough though.

I will watch some videos on microelectronics, is there one you would suggest?
