Floor lamps are lights that sit on the floor. They are not table lamps, which are designed to sit on tables. Floor lamps are usually taller than table lamps.

Arch lamp broke where rod meets lamp shade

I have an arch lamp and while moving it the shade part became detached. Now the only thing that connects it to the rod is the wiring. Is there anyway for me to fix this? I've tried tightening the socket but all it does is twist the wires.

It's a relatively old question and I am sure that @arimaximof17287 has it fixed by now.

Anyhow, what has happened is that the socket has come apart. Looks like the are some clips that may have either come undone, or have broken off. The way I'd fix this would by removing the large nut that holds the lamp socket in place. Then remove the socket and check for the way the clips connect. Either re-attach the clips or replace the lamp socket.
