Hi @charles71234 Did you not click on the link? It is right there on the page.
Hi, I'm also having a big problem with this laptop, that’s 5 years old. I can't figure out whether there's is actually a CMOS battery under the motherboard or not, the big battery playing that role in that case.
actually I'm not sure there's a cmos battery on mine. If there's one it's incomprehensible that it's so complicated to access!
May be there's not and the main battery I disconnected plays that role. who knows. Problem : if connected, when I put the charging wire the system fails.
Now with the main battery disconnected the Bios start sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you
Here's a tip I want to share : if you want to replace a CMOS battery that has two dot soldered wires, you can use a regular C2032 battery. Remove the soldered the wires strongly pulling them from the old battery with good pliers, apply them on the new battery with a simple electrical tape very very tight. I've done this on other PCs and it works.
The problem is that you have to be careful not to make a mistakes, as the supposedly battery I'm talking about is difficult to access and we don't want to disassemble the whole thing again later.
