My Play 4 pro does not read discs
My Play 4 pro does not read discs, it seemed that the discs did not rotate, so I disassembled it and I did not see anything strange in it, so I decided to change the disc drive “Kes-496aaa” and now it tries to rotate the disc, but still does not read them, and I do not know what to do, what could it be?

Hi!
Did you replaced the whole drive? Or did you replaced the laser deck? I know that sometimes replacing the whole drive can give some issues.. And another question, did you also tried a blu-ray movie instead of a game? Just wondering if it can read both or not.

Hi @dan0!
That's right, I replaced the whole disk reader, I changed the one that was there for the “Kes-496aaa”, because it was at the same price as if I just changed the pure lens.
And also, I tried with movies and it doesn't read them either, the discs spin a couple of times, but the discs slow down, and then you can hear noise from the lens trying to read the disc.

Alright, probably the replacement disk drive is faulty, I’m afraid :(… Usually I change the laser decks for the PS4 consoles. Just to be sure you can also replace the laser cable (laser > motherboard). Better to return it and get yourself a new one. Hopefully you will get back to gaming soon!!

Yes, thinking the ribbon cable could be bad as well. When inserting them into their connectors, they have a chance to peel their copper contacts back a bit on certain sections. Have had that issue in the past.

@mr_nimbus As simple as that was, it turns out that the detail was in the ribbon cable.
Thank you very much bro, the play4 is now working normally.
