How to fix it if it crashed

We need information in order to help you. And you do realise that this drive is very old - anything over 5 years is considered old in the computer world (not my words).

Is there a part number on the drive?

Can you hear it powering up and spinning?

Is yours the external version? If so does your Mac see it?

Which Mac model are you using it on?

A history leading up to the crash would help and what you have tried so far.
