Released in May 2020, the 13" MacBook Pro features quad-core Intel 8th generation Core i5 and i7 processors, and Intel Iris Plus 645 integrated graphics. (Model A2289/EMC3456 with two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

This Mac gets super hot

I have this A2289 and it gets stupid hot, like burning hot to the touch, I can't keep it on my lap at all. Do I have any options regarding disassembly, cleaning, potentially thermal pasting, that could resolve?

How long have you had this Macbook? If I were you I'd check the battery health and temps via coconut battery.

What tasks do you usually perform on this MacBook?

@alicel - I would also install both of these useful tools to help diagnose the issue!

> CoconutBattery to see your batteries state

> TG Pro to see why your system is getting so hot

Lastly I would also look at Apples Activity Monitor app which you have in the utility folder so you can see what process is running hard.
