Thin White wire under the battery appears broken. Where does it go?

Replacing the battery which was quite stuck to the phone case. Battery is out and there is now a white wire that was under the battery that is only connected at one end. Is it supposed to be connected at both ends? Is it an antennae?

Without photos it is quite hard to diagnose, but my best guess for a single white wire would probably be a 4G LTE antenna. They are MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) and have redundancy, so you may or may not be able to continue on using it, albeit at a reduced speed.

If it isn't an LTE antenna, perhaps it could also be a wire from the NFC coil, which is located underneath the battery.
