Can new battery in broken iPhone 6s be saved and reused or given away?

My iPhone 6s got shocked into uselessness, only shortly after I had a new battery put in. Apple says that I can't save the new battery and put it into my new phone when I need one, because the old phone and the new one are different models. If I can't do that, can I offer the battery to someone else? Who could use it? Another 6s owner? Anyone else?

Couldn't fix but I'll try to give the battery away through a freecycle like trashnothing. Maybe someone with an iphone 6s will take it.

Assuming you are not getting another iPhone 6s, the battery couldn't be reused in a new phone.

You can give away the new battery to someone else who needs a 6s battery, but that's up to you.
