EMC 2104 with core "2" duo processor

Recently brought for my kid, a second hand imac 17" EMC 2104.

I just noticed that it have a core 2 duo 1.83 ghz processor, instead of the core duo processor, standar for this model, early 2006.

It is possible that's been switched? or some EMC 2104 come with core 2 duos?

The imac have the ATI GPU

If the EMC number you gave is correct and the one from the bottom of the stand, your processor has been upgraded. This machine was a Core Duo: Apple iMac "Core Duo" 1.83 17-Inch Specs
