Unfortunately, in this model, the motor and gearbox are all a single part. You will need to replace it as a whole. That being said, those are pretty hard metal gears, outside of an impact I can't think of much which could cause that damage.

Any idea what the part number is or where to find it? I can’t seem to find that whole piece anywhere and when I look up the model number it’s like it’s non-existent

Did you every get an answer on this? I am trying to find the same part to replace and my machine is only a year old. think this is a serious defect!

@sue48111 Just saw this, if your machine is only a year old, it should still be under warranty. I would advise getting the issue addressed there.

For those that are out of warranty, there is no part for the gear itself. KitchenAid does not stock this part at any point. They receive the motor with the gearbox attached direct from the motor manufacturer. The part number for the motor with the gearbox attached is W11523176.

Since I previously wrote this, it does appear that the gearbox has become an issue on these newer models. The DC motor version has a much larger gearbox which has essentially zero incidences of failures. Not sure what they screwed up in this gearbox but I agree it is a major defect.
