Released in late 2001, the FujiFilm FinePix A101 is an early digital camera with a fixed focus and a small display. it sports new features that will later be used in future cameras.

What type of USB connection does this camera have?

I do own an similar camera (a Finepix A202) that still works fine. The only problem: I have to use a card reader to import pictures to a computer because the USB cable that came with the camera is lost and Fujifilm doesn't sell original USB cables as a replacement (not sure if they ever did). The USB jack/connection on the camera seems to be proprietary. Do third party alternatives for the USB cable that came with this camera exist? What type of USB jack/connection does this camera have?

The USB connector a bit closer. Looks like the connector is 4 pins

Hi @mrt1147

Search online for a UC-E6 Mini 8 Pin USB Data Cable Cord (examples only) to find suppliers that suit you best.

@mrt1147

Don't know why the following didn't show up before when I looked but here is a cable if it isn't too expensive for you to get.

There are others. Just search for Finepix A202 USB cable (examples only)

Unfortunately, this doesn't work at all. The Finepix A202 (A-series in general?) doesn't have a (standard) UC-E6 Mini 8 Pin jack. The manual only says "Special USB cable with Noise Suppression core" and nothing else. Contacted Fujifilm customer service. They told me that Fujifilm doesn't sell original USB cables as a replacement. Asked them what specifications a replacement cable should have. They never answered that question but told that a card reader should be used. So the problem isn't solved (yet).

@mrt1147

How many pins are in the USB connector of the camera?

I can't count them too well in the image you posted, even when zoomed in

It looks like as if there are 4 pins
