Given that you don't have a silent switch like on an iPhone, it seems like this could be a problem with the volume buttons; for instance if one of them is stuck on it could be constantly trying to put the phone in silent mode or take it out (I wasn't clear which one is happening from your description).

Do both volume up and down buttons work? Can you check and let us know?
