Why did my Wii Drive suddenly stop functioning?

Backstory, so over Christmas break, I ordered a fully assembled replacement Disk Drive since my Wii lens was non-functional at this point, and the replacement worked perfectly fine. Now, it doesn't do anything. No test motion, no insertion, nada, nothing. What could the issue be?
