Is my dryer too hot?

Just replaced the heating element on my 240w Samsung dryer, but when I turned it on to test it smelled like something was burning. I was extra careful to clean out all dust and lint before hooking it back up. Is this normal, or is it possible that it's getting too hot? What temp should I be looking for at Medium heat?

Hi @jeffthewhite guy,

What is the model number of the dryer?

If it gets too hot there is a hight thermal fuse that would cut off the dryer /

More than likely it is just the coating on the new element is burning off. I wouldn’t be too concerned because it should dissipate in time.
