Repair and support for the controllers that shipped with the PS3. Released in November 2007 (Japan only) and 2008 (other countries), the six-axis lithium battery powered controller (CECHZC2) is straightforward to repair.

Poured 91 percent alcohol into my PS3joysticks now only 4 buttons work

Poured alcohol into the joystick modules hoping to clear out any grime (didn't have a screwdriver on hand). Now none of the face buttons, or the right side trigger and shoulder buttons work). The start, select, and left joystick, and dpad all work. Anyway to fix this? Going to lowes to get a screwdriver soon.

to clean anything should be 99% iso not 91 because of the water content

The board most likely was damaged due to the alcohol being low percentage. I would recommend picking up a decent screwdriver set, I prefer iFixit sets but any 4mm set will work for most electronics. As for what you can do, you can clean the board with a toothbrush (not the same one you use for your mouth) and 99% Isopropyl alcohol.

best of luck, happy fixing.
