Earlier the HDMi had stopped working for an external display. Currently the laptop doesn't show anything on the display, but the display doesn't seem faulty.

Could it be an issue with the graphics card or driver? or even simply a connector

Can you get into BIOS with a working display of the laptop screen?
External monitors don't work when viewing BIOS. The OS needs to be loaded for them to work.
