I changed the screen and reassembled my iphone. It turns on but the touch screen does not work, it remains unresponsive to touch.

Hi Stéphane,

Generally when we've seen issues with either the display or the touch screen but not both after a replacement, it's usually due to not getting the connectors plugged in correctly, especially if you haven't worked with those connectors very much.

On your phone the digitizer is the connector closest to the edge of the phone, the one the spudger is on in this picture.

First thing to suggest is that you open up the phone again, disconnect the battery and unplug the digitizer. Check the connectors, both on the motherboard and on the flex cable with a magnifying glass and a bright light. Look for any bent or broken pins; bent ones can sometimes be straightened with fine tip tweezers.

If everything looks good, clean both sides with some 90% or higher concentration isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and reassemble. Make sure the plug clicks into place securely, then reconnect the battery and test.

If it's still not working and you have the original screen, try plugging that one back in and see if you still see digitizer issues. If not, chances are the problem is with the replacement so you'll need to contact the vendor and see about getting a replacement.

Give all that a try and let us know what you find. If you're still having issues let us know and we'll see what else we can figure out for you.

Thank you for your response, much appreciated. Before asking for advice on the platform, I disassembled my device a second time and reconnected the 2 connectors exactly as in the photo. (I'm getting very handy with these microscopic screws :-) )I also rebooted the phone. Same result.

@stephanecassani Sounds good. Have you tried the original screen again?
