Repair and disassembly information for Google's Pixel 8 Pro smartphone, released in October 2023. Identified by model numbers G1MNW (NA/AU), GC3VE (EU, India), and GE9DP (JP).

How to replace the rear assembly.

I need to replace the rear assembly and the screen on my Pixel 8 Pro. The Screen replacement tutorial is there, but the rear assembly replacement tutorial is not. Is there ANY guidance?

The back panel is what all the components screw into. The best thing to do would be to follow the teardown and put all components back into a new frame.

The teardown didn't match the device. The backplate includes the thermal sensor. The battery removal strip is useless, use a thin plastic card (I used the iFixit guitar pick tools and then a hotel room key)

The screen replacement arrived with both an adhesive template to lay the adhesive onto the backplate and ALSO adhesives premounted to the back of the screen. Not sure if one should use both or just one.... 🤣
