Screen Broken, would like to retrieve photos.

I have a Z flip3 5g and my screen has recently failed. I was trying to back up my phone while it was happening and trying to add my photos to the back up procedure. Unfortunately, before the screen became completely unusable, i wasn't able to use the top portion of the screen. Is there any way to connect to my computer and retrieve the photos, my computer isn't seeing a USB device connected.

I've got the computer to recognize that the phone is there. Now I am trying to access the memory/storage in it but am unable to use the phone as for the reasons stated above.

I might suggest plugging in a wired USB mouse to access the part of the screen that's not usable due to the dead touch screen, but of course that creates a new problem in that you can't plug in both the mouse and the computer at the same time.

A USB hub/splitter would probably do the trick, or use the wired mouse to pair a bluetooth mouse then you can use the wireless mouse and the computer at the same time.
