MacBook only boots up when repeatedly pressing power button.

Hi,

My macbook air 2017 has boot up issues. It only boots up when the power button is repeatedly spammed for over two minutes, sometimes even longer. This is very strange as when booted the Mac works perfectly fine.

What could be the issue?

When the unit is turned on and running the OS what happens when you press the power button? If the response is intermittent (sometimes working after many presses) then maybe the power button (part of the keyboard) has developed a fault and a keyboard replacement is likely.
